Welcome to the Appletree Country Inn

We regret to inform you that the Appletree Country Inn is closing during May 2013.
The kitchen is now closed, but we will be open for drink Wednesday - Sunday until further notice.

We arrived with the intention to restore a local village pub for everyone to enjoy a drink and catch up with friends, a home from home, whilst also creating a restaurant with a fantastic reputation for food.

We are extremely proud that for the last 2 years we have achieved this.....we have been honoured with loyal locals and great food reviews. Unfortunately the word just hasn't spread enough and the trade is of a level where we are unable to make ends meet.

We will very much miss all our locals; the diners, the drinkers, the darts team, the music nights, the young farmers, the quiz teams, the muddy boots, the rifles, the dogs and even the cockatiel! We truly hope you have all enjoyed yourselves and we have helped make some memories you will treasure. We are only too sorry we are unable to continue to open the doors.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for all your support, we keep our fingers crossed that someone else comes along to keep the beer flowing, we understand how important it is to have a village pub; it has been a difficult decision to make, but in the current climate we are left with no other option.

We are so sorry to be closing the doors.

with love and best wishes

Graham, Clare and Andy

Quiz Night!!

Our quiz nights are held on every third Tuesday of the month and the quiz starts at 8:00pm

There is always a food offering on a quiz night. April's menu was Cottage Pie or Fish Pie for £8.95.

It's £1 per person to enter and the prize is the total of the entrance fees.

If your team win the quiz, you'll set the next months questions; that way, every week there is a difference of specialist subject and the same people aren't winning each time!

Hopefully see all you on 21st April

Music Nights

We are proud to be able to host live music evenings..plugged in and unplugged.

Our next evening is on Tuesday 23rd April.

Performers 8:00pm til 9:30pm and then jam session until late. (Please contact us for more information on performing)

Join in the Jam afterwards for the last hour or so.

As always, amazing vocals from all our regular visitors.

The Appletree Family

Graham Kirk, Head Chef and Owner.
Graham began his career working with Heston Blumenthal at the Hinds Head in Bray. He also worked for 4 years at Michael Parkinson's Royal Oak, which gained its Michelin Star in 2010.

He now owns The Appletree and his aim is to bring back forgotten British dishes and cooking methods and keep the "British local" alive.

Andy Eaton-Carr - Front of House Manager
Andy and Graham first began working together at the Hinds Head in Bray, Berkshire. Andy has moved up to Yorkshire and has been working at the Appletree for over a year and has very much made the place his own.

We are sure you'll agree, Andy has very high standard in customer service and looks after his beer very well.

Clare Kirk
When she's not at work, Clare can often be seen washing up, assisting Graham in the kitchen, cleaning the holiday cottage or just generally sitting at the end of the bar with a cuppa!

Pablo - The Pub Dog!
We couldn't not mention Pablo*! He's the life and soul of the pub; he joined the family in December and has more than made his mark.
He is the most amazing dog anyone could ever ask for. Is either making his way around the locals for cuddles, playing with other dogs, entertaining children, or sitting in the middle of the walkway!

*Known as Shep to some!
